: I will hopefully be purchasing an E30 M3 at some point in the next year or so. I'm currently compiling a purchase inspection checklist. I've placed the checklist at:
: The first several sections are general, but I've tried to tailor the TEST DRIVE and the MECHANICAL sections to the M3. If some of you experts would be willing to look at those two sections and tell me either what's missing or what shouldn't be there, I would really appreciate it.

: Thanks,

: Kurt

That's a great checklist IMO.

I can think of only one easy one to add, once the car is warmed up and with a passenger keeping a look out go to WOT. Look to see if the car leaves a puff of smoke indicating what type of problem it has. Blue you already know is burning oil, Black indicating a rich condition meaning a bad AFM or an intake leak or maybe O2 sensor.
What you guys think?
