The car you see in your brochure is a four zylinder BMW 320is and was sold only on european countries that tax cars by displacement and not by power.
It was sold for about half the price of a normal M3 and had 2/4 door options.
Don't consider it as a fake, it had 192 HP.
It was a sort of undercover M3 with no wide weel arches and the engine was a debored S14 with higer rev limit to compensate for the lack of cc's. This engine is the basis for all later european BMW "Super Tourism" cars including the BTCC E36 320is wich in race trim can develop in excess of 300HP
: I have in my possession an Italian sale brochure showing what looks like a 16V 318 but is in reality the Italian M3. It doesn’t sport any boxed fender and the engine is only 2 litre to avoid high taxations based on engine volume.
