I have recently joined ranks, with the purchase of a 1988 M3, Salmon Silver (YES!!), 88,000 km (55K mi). I have the OEM rims, with Pirelli snow tires, a Borla exhaust (headers-back, no cat; the OEM exhaust with some generic single-tip muffler appended is to be picked up soon), Dinan chip and cam gear, Bilsteins/RD springs, and a RD stress bar.
I wonder what people think of rim sizes for summer tires..I am not into anything too wild, I was thinking of a simple +1 application, eg. 16 inch. What width rims are the standard, and what are reasonable upgrades? What is the standard offset/upgrade offset?
Does anyone have experience with adjustable shock tower inserts? I believe they can adjust camber.
How is the instument panel removed? I have the black OEM dials to replace white dials that came with my car.
There is a reasonably significant oil leak on the left side of the engine. The oil-pressure switch (?) was replaced when I had a tune-up done, but there is still leaking....any ideas?
I have a misfire, probably due to a sticky injector (the ignition side of things seems to be ok). The garage ran a fuel injector flush, and mentioned it ran through really fast, indicating an open injector. This has cured the miss by 80-90%...can anything further be done, or am I looking at replacing the injectors?
Thanks so much for your replies,
