: I am going to change my power steering fluid myself and I am going to flush the old one out. In order to flush it do I just remove the hose from under the power steering fluid canister and let it drain out or do I have to drain it from some other place.

The hoses lead to a banjo fitting connection at the pump. That's where you want to drain it. Get new washers for the fitting or you will have one massive leak. Once you drain it, remove the canister from the bracket and flush it, then reverse flush it. Refill with your choice of ATF but I would use whatever BMW sells you, go to dealership. When you refill, it is helpful to have the car on a lift, with the engine on and turning the steering wheel left to right and right to left. Obtaining a manual wouldn't be a bad idea, as mentioned below.
