: Anyone else experienced this? The gear knob and leather surround that clips in to the center console came off in my hand today. I had to use the metal bar to change gear until I found somewhere to park up. Its back on now but feels a bit dodgy - I have to make sure I press down every gear change.

: What to do? It doesn`t look like its been glued on but there is no way its gonna stay on like it is now. How does it fit on? There is just a slot in the end of the metal bar that the gearknob pushs down on to.

: Bit embarrassing - I was taking a work colleague on a trip to an off-site meeting. An afternoon off-road driving in little buggies!!!! Grreat fun

I would reccomend an aftermarket shift knob and then by a boot for a normal E30, it looks better and stays on. The same thing happend to me into turn 5 at Thunderhill.
