One of the big issues with E30 M3s is their age and mileage. The youngest is 10 years old, and many have 100,000 miles or more on them.

Age, regardless of mileage, takes its toll on rubber and plastic. There are a lot of hoses, bushings, belts, seals, gaskets, etc. on a car. Multiply by the usual M3 price factor (M3 = x3).

Add the high temperature under the
M3's hood and high mileage, and that's why these cars seem to be so expensive to maintain.
