Hello everyone!

My problem is a really bad (am I going to make it home tonight? sort of think) grinding noise that comes from the rear axle.

It happens only after driving at sustained high speeds for quite some time:
I used to do a certain trip, about 100 Km at an mean speed of 200 Km/h. The same trip at lower speeds (<180 Km/h) would be OK. Sort burtst of high speed would be OK as well.
On the high-speed parts everything is OK, but once I enter the build-up area, slow down & start taking sharp turns, rundabouts etc., it happens.

another point is that the noise does happen if no torque is applied to the transmission.
i.e. if I take a turn in neutral it is OK. If I apply power OR if I trail my engine then I get the noise.

Any help would be appreciated.
