the 911 will oversteer like a bear compared to the m3. alternatively, the m3 will understeer like mad compared to a 911. both can be tamed with springs, shocks, sway bars and more. in generaly, the 911 will be more expensive to upgrade and maintain. you can easily spend the moon on the m3 however.

let your budget decide. also, give some consideration to your existing support network: from spouse to banker but specfically those you know who also autoex. their advice and cast offs could save you a bundle.

oh, and think how you'll use the car for trips. i wouldn't ever sit in the back of a 911 whereas i could tolerate the m3's rear seat for short intervals.
