Just diconect the O2 sensor, your gas mileage will drop a little, but I think that it gives the car better response probably because with the O2 sensor disconected the car runs in the closed loop mode so it is runs only on he maps set in the chip. Do you have a chip in your car (I'm guessing so), but if not you can set up the comp the way the Euro ones are set up, there are some things on it that you can play with and set it up a number of different ways, but it would cancel out any gain you get from a chip, it is sort of a poor mans chip. And once again I would just disconect the O2 sensor.

: I need a new O2 sensor but I am going to remove the cat converter and install a straight pipe. Do I still have to install a new O2 sensor once I get the straight pipe or will it be pointless

: TIA
