Detonation and Window Tinting (archive)

Hello All,

Two Questions, in order of priority:

1. I am suspecting some detonation right around 4K RPM, I know that this may be a serious situation if my hunch is right.. My question is: What is best case and worst case scenario if it is, in fact, detonation. Am I looking at intake gasket replacement or an engine rebuild?

2. Someone did a reeeally crappy job on the tinting the rear window... so bad that I can't see anything out-especially at night. Is there any way to get rid of the tint? short of replacing the windshield?
