I love the look, the feel, the rawness, the hard edges, the agressive look and the fact that most folks had no idea there was an M3 before the E36 version. In 1988 I'm sure nothing in the compact range could touch our cars. That was a long time ago and since then the rest of the auto industry has been playing catch-up - and they've finally caught up! While an E30 M3 would still reign supreme in a track environment over most of your Civic and Integras out there, on the street we're packing punch about equal to your average 6 cyl. Camry or Accord. It aint fun having to rev to 7500 rpm just to keep up with traffic, is it? In the year 2000 my car is missing only one element to be a completely satisfying drivers car - enough power to put me just ahead of the 'pack'. This is what an M car should always do. As soon as I can afford it, I'm going with positive manifold pressure or a nice little 2.5 conversion. See ya in the twisties!
