: : Could I install a thinner head gasket to raise compression?

: yes a thinner gasket will raise compression (that is how compression ratio is controlled on diesel motors) the trick is finding one!i've never heard of them for the s-14 motor. to thin and you can start running into valve/piston clearance problems also so keep that in mind. another way is to offset bore the wrist pin (gugeon pin)bushing in the connecting rod to make the piston come up higher in the block, again one must be careful of valve/piston clearances.or just get new pistons at $1200 a set, they are available up to 13.3 to 1
