: I just got my E30 M3, and after traveling 1900+ miles to bring the car home, its really time to change all the fluids and oils. My question is, can someone please give me a run down of how much oil/fluid I should put in each thing? For example, the manual says to use 4.6 quarts of oil for the motor, but I've heard it is better to use just over 5 quarts. What about the trans., Diff., Power steering, coolant, etc.? When I get the car serviced, I want to use my own oil, so I need to know how much to buy. Thanks.

I'll recommend how much to buy (I don't have the exact quantity that the vehicle takes in front of me) and for no other reason what I use. You will have a little bit of everything left over.

Coolant: BMW Coolant buy two gallons, mix 50/50 with distilled water. Added 1 bottle of Red Line water wetter.

Engine oil: 5 quarts in engine, keep an extra in the trunk in case of leakage/burning. Mobil 1 15W50

Transmission: 2 bottles (quarts?) Red Line MTL

Differential: 2 bottles Red Line 75W90

Power steering: 1 bottle ATF (I used Mobil 1 synthetic)

Brakes: 2 liters (bottles) ATE Super Blue or ATE Typ 200
