I would look at the anti-roll bar end links. When they wear they start to make noise over bumps, especially driveways. The noise they made on mine sounded very much like the creaking of a door opening slowly in a cheesy horror flick. Also, if the bolt that holds the link to the strut tower loosens up the rollbar will bang around on bumps. It sounds more like someone under your hood banging on a sauce pan. Let us know what you find.
