: Just got back from San Diego and decided to take my car for a spin. too bad, my dad informed my of a new problem w/ the car. It seems to have a rubbing sound comming from the rear of the car.
: It sounds like a tire rubbing against a fender when the wheels are turned full lock one way or the other, however it is comming from the rear of the car. It's not hear at all in 1st or 2nd. after that it is noticble under light acceleration. Very strong under coasting. and unberable while breaking.
: Some of the symptoms my dad mentioned might be driveline rubbing against something, or a UVC joint going bad. who knows. I'm going to get under the car tommorrow and try to play mechanic and figure out if there is anything rubbing.

: Any thoughts would be apreciated or correct me if I'm totally off on what the noise might be. I can only learn by trial and eror!

1. To check if its the wheel bearings, jack the car up and with the wheels free to spin, see if you can wiggle the tire by grabbing the top and bottom of it at the same time and push and pull in the opposite directions. There should be no play at all.
2. If it rubs on full steering lock it is probably the discs in the limited slip differential. What kind of driving/racing has the car done? Possible solutions are to just drive it with the noise, it wont kill you, find a used one and take your chances with it being good, or buy a knew one, NOT CHEAP, have fun.
