Yep its a gimmick. You can get them inthe UK called "TurboZet" or something. They even do a twin turbo version!!!!!!!!! 8-)
I got someone to look into it by looking at the fan power etc, they came to the conclusion that you would get a bit of power increase at very low RPMs. By low I mean under 1000 RPM!!!! he he he. THis could be more suitable to farm vehicles or something(tractors etc). Still a load donkey doodah though
: : Eric,
: : Curiosity got the best of me and I looked at the spiralmax page. Two things that really stuck out to me(not directly related to the product)were: Would any serious company have a "riceboy" Saturn for their poster car, and would a top notch engineering firm play "ObLaDiObLaDa" while presenting a "revolutionary" product?? I don't see my 80 bones going their way.
: : : ok was board today and ran across this web page from the back of a magazine. they claim they can supercharge any car! what it basicly is a fan that you place in the air hose, and "SWIRLS" the air.
: : : some of the increase gains are pretty far out there.
: : : one guys says that his 1997 dodge stratus went from 168hp to 225hp +60hp! <---yah right!
: : : what do you guys think? it's only $80, worth a try?
: : : heard anything bad about this unit?
: : : thanks

: I'm with you there John.
: So now they're calling this bullshit spiral max? Some idiot on the BMW Digest was selling something similar and calling it electric ram air. Worst thing was the moron wouldn't quit talking about it and caused most of 3,000 people to leave the list and start a new one where he's banned for life. Talk about thick headed meatballs, this guy takes the cake.
