I am planning to use Mahle or Arias forged pistons (8.5:1) They are bout $600 for a set of four. Also I am going to install the oil squirters from the EvoII M3 2.5 The engine will be good for about 500bhp on the stock rods and crank with a KKK K27 turbo and a good intercooler. I am getting the engine from Speedlab ( and swapping the pistons as well as doing some basic buildup on the engine.

: Sean,

: I also thought about a turbo S14 for my E30 M3. Where do you plan to get one? No one I have talked to has one. Do you plan to get custom lower compression pistons and do a custom turbo?

: : I am in the process of looking to buy a 95 M3. my plans are to put a turbocharged S14 (E30M3) engine in the car. I know this might sound a bit crazy but I like to be unique and love 4cyl's. What I would like to know is how easy would the swap be? I know ESE has done S50 in E30 swaps so I'm sure it isn't too difficult. I am concerned about the sump clearance with the cross member as the engine will sit just behind the axle line of the car. Does anyone have any experience with something like this. Obviously the M42 engine (318) worked fine. Thanks for any help.
