ok, when i accelerate i have a lot of smoke from the exhaust. but it is only at high rpm levels when i get the smoke. i can have it at 3000 in 3rd and no smoke and at 5500 in 3rd there is alot of smoke. is this the rings or valves or what. i also noticed that my subframe is broken and that is why i my alingment is off so bad, it must have happened when i jacked up the car and left it there for along time(3hours the passenger side was in the air). I also noticed alot of fluid under my car, it apears to be power stearing fluid but i am really not sure due to it mixing with the dirt and grime under the car. the car is parked and will be towed to the shop on mon, but i would like to have a heads up before i get the bad news.
i guess when it rains it pours...and to bad i was hoping to run in hte autocross next weekend...
any help is more than enough..thanks..
also if anybody is reading this and suggest a rebuild than give me a quote via my email.

What color is the smoke?

If it's blue, it's oil meaning rebuild. If it's white, it's coolant in your oil, meaning head gasket and your head might be warped. If it's black then the car is running rich, many things could be this one but I'd suspect an 02 sensor. Anyone else have more theories?

The pwr steering leak is typical 10 year old bmw thing. Replace the hoses coming out of the reservoir and flush the system. It may be as simple as adding two new hose clamps to the hoses coming out of the rsrvr and tightening. If the rack is leaking then either rebuild it or replace it with an E36 M3 one.

Good luck.
