I would think that you should worry more about the air pressure at the intake area rather than turbulance.

My understanding is that the evo II box relocates the intake area to a lower pressure area which will reduce any intake restriction which the earlier box experienced because of the higher air pressure area this one drew from.

Hope this helps. By the way, you create a higher air pressure on the front of your car as you begin to cover the various openings in the air dam area. This creates more front down force. ALA NASCAR.
