Hamann makes some cool looking wheels and kits. Hartge, ACS, and Dinan are the ones making serious engines, wheels, exhausts, and suspensions. however, IMHO Dinan will supercharge or turbo to gain hp, whereas Hartge makes naturally aspirated engines (stroked)which are more suitable for the track.

MG
p.s I know Dinan makes the 2.6 & 2.5 S-14's, but they also super-charge and turbo/ twin-turbo a lot of bimmers which traditionally aren't worth the $$ or unreliability on the track. I have also been told that the 2.6 kits bore out the block too aggressively which can lead to failures.

Hi, when we compare HAMMAN to other BMW tuners and Aftermarket accessory companies....

-Is Hamann a Tier 1 BMW aftermarket supplier,
comparable to Dinan and AC Snitzer?
-Where would you rank Hamann?
-What country is Hamann based out of?

Thanks and very best,
JC

You are kidding Right? Hamann is a "Tier 1" company based out of Germany and make some of THE best stuff out there for BMW, IMO it is beter then ACS and Dinan, they just are gaining popularity in the States now.

Actually I was curious also. Everything I see from them (or should I say on these boards) is looks only stuff. Big huge wheels that weigh a ton and front spoilers that give the E36 M3 the curled up mustache look, wide body kits etc..

Schnitzer and Hartge make some seriously fast cars (not looks only stuff). I was wondering if Hamann makes high performance parts as well.

I think Schnitzer just came up with an X5M that was faster than BMWs own X5 with the LeMans V12 installed. Pretty cool.
