Skip the m3 for now. hell, be happy that you can afford the m5.

buy the wife a new tank right away. she'll feel better. you'll feel better. your mother will feel better. her's too if it matters. brownie points all around. HUGE upside.

small downside. you don't get another m-car right now. also, $10K invested now @ 10% annually gives you $60K when she starts college.

like I said, about 1 1/2 years away. The wife gets the next car that is for sure. I have to get her all happy and settled. I already do plenty of the savings stuff. How much fun would life be if every time I spent money I went through that analysis?
