instead for using revs to process more mixture/unit time you compress it and make the engine believe it is of a larger capacity than it really is!

nice idea that expands the bhp horizons & brings a whole new set of problems as well!

imagination & mechanical integrity is the limit!
(OK $^n! i.e. cash in the factorial n power!)

along the same path is the use of oxidants other than O2 in the air, i.e. NOx. You pump more oxygen in the engine than present in the air and voila! power!

and of course all these can/are be used with conjuction with each other. The F1 turbocharged engines of the past were spinning way past 10.000 rpm! not exactly practical for road cars!
