I need to replace the brakes on my 88M3. The rotors are warped due to hot spots, but the pads have about 3/4 - 1 inches left on them. Do I need to replace the pads with the rotors? Or can I still use the old brake pads with the new rotors? Need your advise...
Thanks

Yes you can re-use your pads with no problem.
When i do this i lay a sheet of 60 grit sandpaper on a piece of flat wood and rough the old pads up real well to remove any surface blemishes or groove marks caused by the previous rotors.
Been doin this on various VWs for 20 years,
and now on my Bimmer :-) Works great.

I'm curious about how you warped and hot-spotted
your rotors? What kind of pads are you using?
I suspect they may be metallic pads......
