... SLOTTED. Hmmmm. I was watching the American Lemans series on Speedvision - Sebring race I believe. Saw the Porsche 911 come into the pits. They have to completely gravity feed all the fuel before touching anything mechanical on the car. Anyway, when they pulled the wheels off I saw only slotted rotors. Absolutely no crossdrilled holes anywhere. I didn't see what Boris Said's E46 M3 was using though. -Jeff

porsche rotors are cast with the holes already in them, so they are not really drilled....

The rotors with cast in holes come on the street cars from the factory, as far as racing teams go.. they most likely use what works best for them in each situation. I believe nascar..yes those big tanks, also use slotted rotors as did many teams in grand-am racing of old.

Each car has different braking needs so whatever works, right?
