It is possible to keep an M3 with extremely low miles from deteriorating. Mine had 2000 miles on it after 9 years. It was thoroughly inspected by a mechanic who used to race them, and knows M3's like the back of his hand. Now this car had been in a heated garage and was started up and run every few months where it sat. It did cost about $3,000 for replacements parts however, but it is now as good as new and a dream to drive.
