I have noticed that the passenger side footwell gets really wet(soaks rights through the floor mat) on occasion. After talking to mechanic, he said an a/c tube runs through there and could be broken or out of fitting. My question is, how do I go about removing the center console to get a look in there. Some of the plastic pieces seem really fragile. Is there a "best" order to getting in there...specifically the right side that I need. Any help in greatly appreciated.

Chris

chris,
I will try my best to guide you on this so bear with me as I went to go to the same ordeal when i was instaling my oil pressure gauge. Its really a pretty straight forward deal so dont let it intimedate you. first you must access you globe box and remove the plastic trim that cover the computer there will be 4 screws and also there will be some plastic fastener that you will have
remove these fastener just twist to removeand also you might have to remove the strap that support the globe box to gain more room .Better yetremove the globe box. behind here you will see the air condition line begin you check on this area chances are you will find your problem here beforeyou start removing other pieces of the car run your air condioning system check the tube for
condensation, also check the expansion valve normaly this valve is is insulated with water proof material i f you cant find any problem here
then the next step is to remove your consul. remove the leather cover of your shifter to access the fastener there should be two. Next remove the twist on fastener on both the driver and asenger footwell. remove the driver side trim under the steering colum there should be three srew and one more underneat the steering wheel next remove the plastic trim on the passenger side side of your you should see your heater and air conditioning system. before you proceed with the removal process you need to remove your rear consul by first removing your hand brake cover just pull it staight up It's just held with a spring like tab next remove your rear ashtraya to gain acces to the nut that secure the rear shelf and pull rear shelf straight back there will be two plastic tab that connect this to you center consul. after you got this out of the way
here comes the hard part as there will be two philips head srews you will not see this with out
lieying on your back lucky for me when i was doing this job i have the driver seat remove.so i have a little more room to play with. doing this though is not necesary just get your self a small mirror so you could view the screw while you attemp to remove it .by the way dont forget to remove your front ashtray and your cigarrete lighter.Once you get this out of the way just pull staight back as you lift up to clear your shifter. The drain tube for your water will be expose run your air again and check if you cant find what your looking for then the water is coming from some where else i hoppe my explination help ,goodluck to you
