Hey all,

Im in the process of getting a 1988 M3 as a fun car. How much money is it to maintain the car? I heard people spending over a grand for service at the dealership. I understand that the Inspection II service is a killer, but can I do some of that work. I also heard that parts for the car cost a fortune. Is that true. I have owned a 1991 525 and that was not to bad for service and parts.

Any other things I should worry about? If everything goes well I should have the car in the next two weeks or so.

I think I've invested a little under $5,000 in the last year of owning my //M , I think my car had a bad owner before it though. I wish I had a mechanic look over it before I purchased it, I wouldn't have bought the car if I knew everything that was "different" on my car. I love it though!
