Get yourself a wiring manual.
Or if you are trying to save money and cause more repairs and work.
Follow back the wires from the fan itself. It should lead you to the sensor which is either on the thermostat housing or radiator. With a voltmeter/ohm meter or continuity tester determine which wire is hot.
Hopefully, you will have only two wires. Jump the hot wire to the other wire and see if the fan turns on. If it does you have found out what you needed to know.
I will warn you this is just a SUGGESTION. You will assume the risk of damaging your electrical system if you do not know what you are doing. Also, you may risk injuring yourself as the fan may turn on while you are checking it out.
Please get a manual otherwise you may be giving yourself another headache.
It will probable easier to raise the car up on jack stands or a lift. Also remove the bottom front plastic valance. Otherwise you will not be able to reach or see into the engine bay.
