Hey Paul, check to see if you have the original Behr/Bosch compressor (I have the model number at home). You probably do not since you have a tension pulley, like I said mine didn't. I replaced my stock compressor with a Seltec brand aftermarket one for use with R134a "freon". In order to mount this compressor I had to install a bracket or mount kit that included the tension pulley. The kit cost $70.00, I got it and the compressor from AIRPRO in Mesquite Tx., the number is (972)288-8888 ext.316 or WAT 1(800)247-7765. BTW, if the compressor clutch has gone out on the stock unit I think BMW has a repair kit for it. The aftermarket unit was around $200.00, mount kit $70.00, drier receiver $40.00, two custom hose ends to fit the new compressor $30.00 and you need an expansion valve (had already been installed on mine). Total was around $360.00 before freon recharge. Hope this helps...
Doug;
thank you very much for your help.
If you are ever in Northern California; I will buy you a beer.
Take care.
