Thats what I have. Its a good thing but if you forget to switch it on.................. Mine is currently having a service and they are taking a look at the switch because I`d prefer it to come on automatically myself.

I'm thinking that the power that gets sapped when the fan cuts in is gonna be more than the efficiency you gain from running at a lower temp - you know how the revs drop when the fan comes on? Also, it sounds to me like the first stage of your two-stage fan wasn't working if it only used to cut in at the 3/4 mark. Usually the slower setting kicks in at just over 1/2 and then speeds up at 3/4. Personally, I would do away with the switch altogether and put a manual one in the cockpit for use in traffic.
