In Reply to: Coolant Sensor question.... posted by ADA///M on September 28, 2000 at 16:17:26:

My coolant check light came on three days ago, and I went to check it figuring that the coolant had just run low. But when i checked it was full. Now the light stays on all the time and no coolant has been lost. The coolant light had been working fine.
Does this mean that the coolant sensor(the thing that goes into the overflow tank) just needs to be replaced or could there be another problem? I'll check the wiring to make sure there's juice, but if there is power then should it just be the sensor? Do these just stop working like that? Also anyone have any prices for these sensors? Thanks for the help

Sometimes it gets gunked up. Take it out, wash it, put it back in. It might save you 12 bucks.

Otherwise, like these guys said, replace it. :-)
