I've been pondering this myself.... My conclusion is quite simple, though. Consider that stock height is optimum for this car (wheel+tire), now decide upon a wheel size and get out the calculator. You will need a mm/inch conversion chart to figure total height of the setup. I came up with a 235/40/17 when I did this calculation last week. I don't have my notes in front of me now, but send me an email and I can walk you through sometime soon. The way I see it, one can chose from a variety of wheel sizes and still find the optimum overall height by sizing the tire accordingly. My 88 had 17" wheels when I bought it so this is what I had to work with. You may think about 16" for the sake of shaving some weight, every little bit will help.

What would you guys say is the best overall rear tire size? One that does not take away from acceleration, but looks cool and offers improved traction over stock.
