This may sound way stupid and simple but I just talked to a guy today at a BMWCCA autocross and one thing he told me about, since I have had my E30 M3 for two weeks, pertains specifically to your problem. He told me that if the washer light comes on and you have a full resevoir, make sure that the sensor is positioned totally vertical. That might just fix it very easily.

Good luck.

My washer light stays on even when the fluid is full. Yes, I cleaned the sensor and even replaced it but I still continue to have the same problem. Where else can I look? Also, my coolant light will come on after a long drive on the highway but when I start it again, the light is out and I don't have a coolant leak. I know these sensors are related...perhaps a bad ground?
