Everyone I have talked to and all of the research I have done indicate that synthetic has better lubricating properties and forms fewer deposits.

The ONLY downside I have heard of with switching to synthetic is that any oil leaks you might have could gete worse. This is because gaskets can soak up conventional oil and swell. So when you change to synthetic the gaskets shrink up and...voila: a bigger leak.

Are E30 M3's better suited to run regular or synthetic oil? The guy I bought my car from said regular oil works best. Any thoughts?.... How about the use of slick 50 and Prolong, do they do any harm? What works well in conjunction with the S14 motor?

Aaron.
