Well your car probably doesnt have 49k miles. Also I'm glad for him if he can sell it for that much. It just makes makes mine and all of our cars more valuable.
E30 M3's are a dying breed. There are very few clean perfect examples left. I know if I owned that car some one have to put 24 g's in my hand to get it away from me. Actually i wouldnt even sell it for that much. Anyway Its his car and thats what he feels its worth.
I've seen much worse examples for 18000. So maybe 24 is a little too much, but i can see him asking at least 20k for it.
Eventually(at the rate things seem to be going) there arent going to be many e30 m3's that aren't salvaged or that have been converted to race/track cars. So in my mind this car will double in value in 10 years.
Anyway you're not buying it so why do you care so much. Be happy with your car that you got for 10k. Invest another 10k in it when you have to rebuild it soon.
