I have a question about that. I'm my car, the last owner had the rear metal plate that seperates the back seats and the trunk cut up. Would it be a good idea if I got a rear stress bar to make up in the lost strength from that little wall?

Yes, this wall does make a difference in handling. I noticed a huge difference when a friend cut the wall out of his M3. The car oversteered like crazy. Do what you can to reinforce the rear. A shock tower brace isn't going to cut it, though. You'll need either custom welded tubing or sheetmetal replacement. The walls are all the same for E30's, so go to a junkyard with a saws-all and cut one out. BRING EARPLUGS!! Then get a bodyshop to weld it back in. Just make sure you cut it out a little bigger than the hole in your car.

Good Luck

was the whole wall cut out, or was it just the three pannels that were cut out. It is my belief that if these 3 pannels are removed but the two pillars are not, it won't make that much of a difference.
