Advice on E30 repairs (archive)

I've been looking at buying an E30 M3, and I've looked at a couple cars fo far. All of them are in decent shape considering they have around 130k miles, however there are a few things wrong with each. I'd like to get some idea of the potential cause and cost of repairs of a few things I've seen on these cars. I'm pretty knowledgeable about Audis, but not BMWs.

1. Wandering idle - When warm, the idle speed wanders between 1000 and about 1700 rpm. Idle is solid when cold or with AC on.

2. Rattle in steering column when riding over bumps. Seems to be almost in the cockpit, not under the hood. Loose or worn bushing??

3. Dash lights don't work. All other electrical stuff in the cockpit seems fine.
