I found the vin# break down for the e30 m3
mine is the 305 US version built. I know there is a guy in Vancouver who has #18.
the vin #'s go from
2495001-2198685
I am just curious how many of the early cars are still around and not in the grave yet.

That's me, but it's Seattle, not Vancouver. My '88 M3 was manufactured in March 1987. It is chassis #2195019, which indicates that it is the 19th U.S. M3 produced. Searching the BMW NA database by VIN numbers, it is apparent that this car that was the first M3 sold in my home state (Washington). I was just lucky to have found this car, currently with 68K miles. My '99 M3 was ordered from the factory; it has 4K miles.
