I'm getting rid of my Z3 2.8, good fun but as it only gets used at weekends now (Grand Cherokee for work days) don't need the depreciation - have taken it on Castle Combe, that was fun as only have Strut Brace and AC Springs for mods - brakes fade after 3 laps.
Then I have the 325i Sport, I'd like an M3 Evo II or III, the wife says it should be a 911. If the latter it has to be a special one, GT3 would be my chocice but just a little too expensive. What's different about the RSL - yes I know nothing other than the spec of a GT3!!

I hope the VR6 seems more modern than the VW Cab I`m currently driving! 8-). No power steering in it, and quite a bit of body flex. Still, at least its got a classic design. The clutch only bites at the very top of its travel too - knackered clutch I expect.
Hmm yeah, an M3 will compliment the 911 in the garage nicely! 8-). MIne was imported from Germany too.
Keep away from the Moseley Catelogue - he hehe. Its tempting to do a few mods I know that already!
Gaydon? wheres that?
I`m in the UK in Berkshire. Currently without my bimmer though as its back at the specialists I got it from with a real pain-in-the-butt problem 8-(. When cold its just DYING on me. Sometimes it`ll do it straight away after starting, other times it can happen while driving at speed.
Currently driving round in a 1990 VW Golf Convertible (loan car) while his car is being looked at. I always wanted to look like a female hairdresser - ha ha
Bar the good chat that goes on its obvious that this forum is heavily based on US surfers. Are there any UK owners out there and are you going to Gaydon later on this month?
Hi, I am about to be a uk owner and am in the throws of buying car from Germany at present, you can see my last note on Is my EVO and EVO a day or so a go. I have put a deposit on a car that I think is not an evo II. I won't have the car until late this month though as I intend flying accross at the end of the month...
I live in Berkhamsted and my current every day is a vR6, my current (I will never sell this as it is my real baby)sunday/track day car is a 911 C2 RSL with lots of mods revvin' to 8,000 with more engine lightening, titanium and balancing than most race engines....
The M3 is for everyday and I am supposed to be spending no money on it.... I can't see that happening somehow, pass me the Moseley motorsport catalogue please !....
Thanks for the reply, I will get both cars checked out fortunately I have some really good contacts in Germany as I help people find 911's. I just don't know any M3 experts over there, but if you are a car specialist I am sure they can have a real good look. I will check out the subframe area, I remember one site gave a nice list of bits to look out for.
My plan is to get as good a car as poss with as low mileage as poss then perhaps build a replacement engine up with some trick bits and swap engines when it's time for the chain to be replaced. Hopefully buying one with low enough miles should give me some breathing space while I finish off the 911.....
I want to fit some mega lite 18" Dymags with sticky tyres, a 6 speed ultra close ratio box. With ratios to make a group A car cry ! 2.43, 1.89, 1.52, 1.24,1.03, 0.89.. Trouble is the box will be £3k second hand before I spend £3k on gears and god knows what on labour etc !! (nearly the cost of another M3!)
Still it's all good fun, If you are around drop me a line and we can talk M3's as I am building my knowledge. I am already pretty knowledgeable on RS's (Some would say a bloody anorak !)
