I picked my car up and steam cleaned the bottom of it acouple of weeks ago and the same thing happened, I ended up taking the distributor cap off, and it was soaked inside, and even if you're only eighteen you will know high voltage will follow the path of least resistance. Short story,dry the inside of the cap,car ran fine. Looking down on the top of the distributor, I saw what looked to be a weep hole only it was facing up!! So any time water got into the engine compartment, some would go into this hole. I gooped it up with silicone and have had no problems since.
