Are you turning it into a track only car? If not I would keep the original panels. If it is going to be a road/track car just remove all easily removable parts.

Remove everything in boot including tools in the toolbox. Remove floor mats. Remove carpets and seats if you have to. The rear bench seat doesn`t weigh much apparently but the front passenger seat can go for sure. RUn the car with minimum fuel on the track.

Does anyone know the weight split front and rear for a standard M3 ?

I'd like to shed some weight but would like to know which end to start with. It'll probably be seats, and spare wheel to start, not sure about fitting alightweight 'ripply' f/glass panel to a minter...Any thoughts ?
