I had a similar problem...the source was the a/c leaking water. There is a plastic tube that runs through the center console that joins w/ another tube. The connector often gets knocked loose. It is quite a job to get the console apart. Another source could be a plug in another a/c (i think) tube. This one exits the firewall on the passenger side and looks like an elephant trunk. Real easy to clear it out so try that first.

Then again, it could be something else entirely.

the floor on the passengers side of my 86 m3 gets wet. Haven't got a clou where the water enters the car. anyone know this problem?
