I'm pretty excited. Does anyone have any good links to read more about my car?
Welcome to the club. I am glad to hear that you checked it out thoroughly and that you know enough people in the car biz to help you. Given that you own a detailing business I trust that your M3 will be spotless at all times. (By the way, what's the name of your company and where are you in Vancouver?)
Join the M3 Special Interest Group at www.bimmers.com. It is a great resource and the members are very helpful. The site itself has some good info about your new prize. Also, go to www.artglenn.com/bmwm3/ for history. I recommend a book by Alan Henry called "BMW M Series: The Complete Story" (ISBN 1-86-126-146-2) This book has lots of info about all M series cars but it has even more on the E30 M3's.
You will enjoy the car so much despite expensive and frequent maintenance. I just drove it 175 miles to and from hockey and the sound of the engine and exhaust, the effortless passing, and the razor sharp steering remind why I forked out so much cash (US $ to boot!) and live with frequent visits to my mechanic. Take it up Marine Drive to Horseshoe Bay and you'll be in heaven.
Feel free to e-mail me directly. I have also accumulated a handful of articles about the E30 M3. (I can figure out some way to get them to you. I will be in town in November.)Hope this helps and most importantly, enjoy the car!
