Well the motor is stock other than a JimC chip, and the car failed emissions horribly. CO was almost 4 times the limit at 403 ppm. I just got the car so I'm not that familiar with it, but does anyone have any ideas for a simple fix? I hear other people passing emissions with the same JimC chip so I doubt it's that. Is there a mixture adjustment or something I can turn down temporarily for the test? The car runs great but it must be running too rich for the tests liking? Thanks for any help!

That's a staggeringly high reading. Mine was very low with my Dinan chip. There is a problem, but I have no idea what it is. O2, maybe... just get it a complete tune-up and see what the mechanic can find (unless you can do this kind of trouble-shooting on your own).

RE: the posts about "black smoke". No worries, just unburnt fuel as a result of the chip pushing more gas into the engine -- expected and normal. The fuel maps aren't going to affect your idle (sniffer) test that much.
