Hi Barry.

So does that mean that these pieces are not fully leather, but rather cloth with leather surround? Now I'm really confused :^)

Thanks.

I am looking to replace my two front door panels because the last knucklehead who owned the car cut holes for speakers in the current ones. Anyway, while perusing my shiny new Mobile Tradition parts CD (thanks Matt), I came across the following (in addition to the stock vinyl pieces):

51 41 2 231 447 Door lining leather left (natur)
51 41 2 231 448 Door lining leather right (natur)
51 41 2 231 481 Door pocket left (natur M sport)
51 41 2 231 482 Door pocket right (natur M sport)

I thought the E30 door panels only came in vinyl. Will these leather panels fit in place of the ugly vinyl ones? And what about the door pockets? What earns these the "M sport" designation?

Thanks and take care.

They earn the M sport designation with M stripe patterns on cloth and the outside surround being leather.

I'm saying only the M sport door panels are cloth with the leather surround.

Barry,
I have the BMW Motorsport Door Panels on my '88. They are the ones with the striped cloth inserts in Motorsport colors but I don't think the "surround" is leather though! Mine looked like vinyl but then again I may be wrong...
Regards,
david
