I've always like the E30 M3 and finally saved up enough to get one. I would like to use it as both an everyday car as well as for some fun at a driving school down the line.

I'd like to get your opinion, especially those that own or have driven both, M3 and 911. Should I get an M3 or save a bit more and get a 911 that's 2 or 3 years older? Both of these cars look good in their own way but one will see 911s everywhere as opposed to a rare E30 M3 sighting. On the other hand, the 911 has been touted to be synonymous with sport or racing car. Since I've never race a car, is the 911 that much better (performance, reliability, fun to drive)? or are the M3 and 911 in different classes? Remember, I'm thinking of a 10K M3 and probably a 15K 911.

If I get an M3, should I get an '88 or '91? I know that the '91 will have an airbag, possibly less miles, and wear and tear but does it have anything else in terms of performance or reliability that really differentiate it from the '88 that I should spend more for? Is it better to get a modified one vs. close to stock if I plan on using it at driving school and grow into it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think you may have your number plates on the wrong car!!!!
