Well I took out the car on a test run with the 15's the other night. I noticed a significant increased amount of acceleration through all of the gears. My first test was running with my friends 97 E36 M3. I was a half a car length behind him up to 100 mph. With the 17's on he dogged me completely. I also noticed the handling did not suffer much around the street. So my conclusion is keep the 17's for show and 15's speed on the street.

What tyre sizes did you run on the 15's and 17's ? Obviously part will be gearing but it would be interesting to see how much is down to the wheel inertia
