$1500?!?!? You can't even go to Advance Auto, Autozone, Pep Boys, or Trak Auto and get a reconditioned engine, tranny and ECU for any POS American car!

I don't think M3's were even sold in Japan--because there were no right-hand-drive E30 M3's made. You can find LHD M3's in England and elsewhere, but weren't they imported privately?

Not imported privately -- officially converted in very limited numbers in England. Evidently they weren't as good as the originals due to a different (slower, heavier) steering rack, and some other changes.

Something tells me they didn't manufacture RHD E30M3s specifically for Japan (I've never heard of this and I've done a lot of research), but I could be wrong :)
