E36 M3 'Vader' seats look cool, but they suck... (archive)

...the upper side bolsters are too soft and do not hold you in place when cornering - you have to have a death grip on the steering wheel or a full harness. The adjustable shoulder support thing that moves with the headrest is very trick, but does absolutely nothing.

The best BMW seats I've ever sat it are in the E34 M5. Same design as our E30 M3 seats, but just a little bit bigger (I'm 6'4"), and full power of course. Our seats run a close second. Don't know why BMW changed for the worse in the E36. The Evo 3 Recaro SRD's do look awesome, I'd love to try them out.
