But how much of that money was spent on stuff that REALLY needed to be done?

A dinan stage 3 kit doesn`t sound like a necessity to me 8-)

Only do stuff u can afford to do - without the threat of having to get rid of it 8-)

Darren

Well, this is the point, actually. I was replacing the suspension since it needed to be done within the next while, and I'd budgeted for the Dinan kit (along with the UUC shifter). The 'extra' (but equally necessary) mechanical fixes were what ended up adding to the cost of the whole thing. It was the small list of annoyances (cold start issue, some minor surging under part throttle, and a quirky idle controller) that surprised me as to their expense.

Right now, I can afford this -- at some point, I won't want to HAVE to afford it if it keeps up. I love the car, so... :)

As someone pointed out, labor is a huge deal. Yeah, most of this goes into paying someone to do the work for me. I'd love to do it myself, but I don't have the mechanical skills.

Greg.
